Black College Nines announce preseason favorites for the 2022 Historically Black College and University (HBCU) baseball season. Bluefield State the preseason favorite for the small school HBCU baseball programs.
Big Blue picked to successfully defend its small school HBCU baseball title after winning the 2021 inaugural Black College World Series.
Bluefield State came off the 2021 season captured their first baseball national title and made their first appearance in a championship setting.
The HBCU Black College World Series will be held in Montgomery, Alabama May 10-15, 2022.
Black College Nines is responsible for selecting the field of eight invites. Black College Championships is responsible for the tournament seeding and bracketing the field for the Black College World Series. Black College Nines HBCU ranking poll is a cross-section of the Division II and NAIA “small school” membership.
Black College Nines is dedicated to preserving the tradition of baseball at historically black colleges and universities with their coverage of HBCU baseball.
