Black College Championships, LLC along with The Montgomery Biscuits, the City of Montgomery, the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce and the Central Alabama Sports Commission will host a virtual press conference at 10:00 a.m. CST on Monday, February 7th to formally announce the second annual Black College World Series. The press conference will be lived streamed at www.mybcsn.net, the BCSN YouTube channel (@mybcsn1), Facebook page (@mybcsn1), and Twitter page (@mybcsn1). The HBCU baseball event will be hosted by the Montgomery Biscuits, the Double-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays of Major League Baseball. The event will be played at Riverwalk Stadium, 200 Coosa Street, Montgomery, Alabama 36104 from May 11-15, 2022.
The series will feature Historically Black College and University (HBCU) baseball teams from the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II and from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). School’s baseball programs from these two athletic governing associations constitute the “small school” division, who will compete to crown a HBCU national champion.
The events surrounding the Black College World Series will take place between May 10 -15, 2022 throughout the City of Montgomery. The festivities will begin on Tuesday evening, May 10th, with the Black College Nines Post Season Awards Banquet. Games will begin at Riverwalk Stadium on Wednesday, May 11 and culminate with the championship game on Saturday, May 14th. Sunday, May 15th will be used as a rainout makeup date.

About The Montgomery Biscuits
The Montgomery Biscuits is a Minor League Baseball team based in Montgomery, Alabama. It is the Double-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays and plays in the Double-A South. The team was founded in Orlando, Florida, in 1973 as the Orlando Twins, an affiliate of the Minnesota Twins in the Southern League. After remaining in the Minnesota minor league organization for 20 seasons, the team became an affiliate of the Chicago Cubs for four seasons and then the Seattle Mariners for one. In 1999, the Biscuits became an affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, and they have remained in the organization ever since and became members of the Double-A South in 2021. Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium is the home of the Biscuits. The minor league baseball ballpark opened in 2004. Located in downtown Montgomery can host up to 7,000 people a night. The ballpark offers a riverfront area easily accessible from Riverwalk Stadium, 20 luxury suites, picnic areas along the third-base line, and the left-center-field line. The picnic area in the left-center field can accommodate up to 4,000 fans. The stadium also has a full bar called “The Club Car Bar”. The park has a children’s playground area located down the third baseline. The stadium scoreboard is a video board with a LED screen with instant replay.
